Smithsonian Libraries

The Smithsonian Libraries is the most comprehensive museum library system in the world, supporting the vital research of the Institution as well as the work of scientists and scholars around the world. Consisting of 20 branch libraries in Washington, D.C., Panama and New York, our collections are as diverse as the patrons we serve. Our Smithsonian online collection focuses on Smithsonian publications, art and design, history and culture, and the history of technology. Our natural history titles can be found on the Internet Archive in the Biodiversity Heritage Library collection.
